The marquee that will welcome guests into Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now up just beyond the construction walls. Toy Story Land will shrink guests down to the size of toys to play in Andy’s backyard and experience three main attractions, Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster.
Update: Disney Parks Blog also shared two images of the 20 foot tall Woody statue that will appear with the Toy Story Marquee. To give you a sense of the scale, Woody’s hat measures 7 feet from brim to brim.
The Disney Blog was invited to take a special hardhat tour of the new land yesterday, alas mother nature had other plans and the tour was postponed another month due to lightning in the area. We were able to see some of the rich landscape and detailed theming that Disney has added around the Slinky Dog Dash coaster.
Walt Disney World has added an interactive website to help built excitement for the new land. ToyStoryPlaytime.com is open to explore. You’ll find three games – Slinky Dog Stretch, The Claw Challenge, and Trivia Mania.
With just two months left before Toy Story Land’s June 30th official opening, Imagineerings are busy putting the final touches in the land. We can’t wait for a chance to explore it some more.
There seems to be a new structure going up by the entrance to the land. Do you happen to know what it is? It’s just steal beams right now. With two months to go I wonder if whatever that is will be completed.
