Pandora – The World of Avatar will bring a variety of new experiences to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will be sticking around until dark to witness the dramatic daytime beauty of the land transforms to glow by night when bio-luminescent flora and intricate experiences add a dreamlike quality to Pandora.
In order to transport guests to Pandora, there is a big focus on creating plant life that is really alien looking. The land must fit in with the rest of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It does that in part by having nature, even alien flora, encroaching on anything that’s man made.
There’s also an effort to make you feel like there’s a real planet ecosystem with Pandoran animals in the not too far distance. On the nocturnal Na’vi River Journey there will be an opportunity see some of the animals up close as you float by.
I don’t know about you, but I’m really curious to see how well Disney pulls off the bioluminescence environment after darkness falls. Pandora – The World of Avatar opens May 27th at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
