When Pandora – The World of Avatar opens, it will bring not just the flora, fauna, and adventure of the far off alien world, but the cuisine as well. The main culinary outpost will be a quick service dining location named Satu’li Canteen. There you’ll learn to enjoy the food of the Na’vi.
In the lore of the land, Satu’li Canteen was once the giant dining hall of the Resources Development Administration (RDA), aka the bad guys from the first movie. It has since changed hands to Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) tour company, which has added some cultural artifacts in order start the reclamation process of the facility.
All the dishes will be creative, colorful, and full of flavor. Plus they’ll feature healthy and sustainable harvests, including wholesome grains, fresh vegetables, and hearty proteins. There’s even an giant grill right in the middle of the dining room.
The location serves Lunch and Dinner. Most meals are served in a bowl with ingredients you can customize. Choose a base of quinoa and vegetable salad; red and sweet potato hash; mixed whole-grain and rise; or romaine and kale salad. Then choose your protein from wood-grilled chicken, slow-roaster beef, sustainable fish, or chili-spiced fried tofu. The bowl can be finished with charred onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette, or creamy herb dressing.
On the side, you’ll enjoy steamed ‘pods’ like Boa Buns with either cheeseburger or vegetable curry and served with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw.
Kids will enjoy a simpler bowl option with chicken, beef, fish, or tofu; a hot dog wrapped in delicious dough, cheese quesadilla, or a steamed pod (aka cheeseburger bao bun).

One of the new features of the loation is the ability to place your order, and pay for your food, before you even arrive at the location. Satu’li Canteen is the first location to try out this new service, with other locations added later in the year.
(Note: the system currently isn’t very robust, so don’t expect it to process your Disney Dining Plan, discounts or special orders.)
