This week Planet Hollywood Observatory invited local media to swing by and enjoy a cooking demonstration with Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri in front of the new entrance to the remodeled restaurant. The reason they weren’t inside was that the location still has many last minute construction details to wrap up before they can officially open for guests.
I was able to swing by Disney Springs on Friday and get a peek into the new main entrance for Planet Hollywood Observatory. Gone is the huge crashed flying saucer, replaced by a new modern entry way with a rock museum vibe. Yes, the amazing Hollywood memorabilia that Planet Hollywood is famous for are back.
Two big pieces of that collection are already on display and visible as you climb the stairs to the main dining level of the restaurant. A costume of Chewbacca worn in Star Wars on the left and an authentic Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeves on the right.
I can’t wait to see what else is inside once Planet Hollywood Observatory reopens. Right now that date looks like sometime around January 27th. But stay tuned for an official date.
