The first full trailer for Disney’s live-action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is magical movie making at its finest. Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast star in the tale as old as time. Disney hopes this comtemporary update of the animated classic will attract modern audiences.
I don’t know why people are upset about The Beast’s face? I think it’s suitably horrible looking while still having a range of emotion that’s required for the big screen.
We also got a good look at how the animated objects will move and interact. To me that was always going to be the most challenging aspect of the live-action remake. I think the jury is still out, but I’m liking the look more than I thought I would.
About the Movie:
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon based on the 1991 animated film, “Beauty and the Beast” is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.
“Beauty and the Beast” will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
It takes me back to the day my wife & I took our daughter, Corinne to see the original Disney Classic. She was so young I had to hold down her seat from closing on her. And Beauty & The Beast has been a part of our family ever since. Can’t wait for March.
I always love the Disney’s live-action films, beauty and the beast is one of my favourite movies. It is a beautiful story about true love. Beauty and the Beast is one of those films that will always be remembered. And now I can not wait to see this movie. it’s great that they continue to use the original music. So you recognize the story everywhere. I wonder how they are going to make the magical inhabitants of the castle, I’m really looking forward to see them. The beast already looks great; he is not too scary but also not too sweet. if you look at the trailer you see a lot of similarities with the animation film. the events also do not change, just like the yellow dress. I love it! This was actually the first movie that I ever cried in, the ending was just so beautiful. I am also very curious about how the cast is going to do, I have great expectations and I hope they do not disappoint me. But I’m pretty sure it will be the best film of the year which I will always remember. Beauty and the beast, here I come!
