We recently were invited visit STK Orlando and find out for ourselves why STK is “not your daddy’s steakhouse.” We’re working up a full review, but STK is doing a wonderful promotion right now and I wanted to get the word out about some of the signature cocktails and a special “Orlando Pride” cocktail that will help support the victims of the recent Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando.
Upon hearing about the promotion, I was really curious about the Orlando Pride drink. It is a gin-based martini featuring fresh lemon juice, muddled raspberries, and egg whites for a full body, foamy head cocktail. The beautiful rich pink color is matched by a yummy raspberry taste. There’s a hint of tartness, but not a lot, so it still is very smooth. I found it simply delish!
Purchases of the Orlando Pride cocktail at any STK location will send net proceeds to the OneOrlando fund which benefits the victims and victims families of the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
I also enjoyed the “… not your daddy’s manhattan“, which is bulleit bourbon, zinfandel port, carpano antica sweet vermouth, and bitters. I’m officially ordering all my manhattan’s with sweet vermouth and port from not on. Such a revelation.
My third drink was the terrifically named “Smokeshow.” It features don julio tequila, mescal, aperol, and carpano antica sweet vermouth. For those who love a tequila drink, but don’t want another margarita, definitely order up a smokeshow.
My final drink wasn’t on the signature menu, but I had it a the grand opening gala; the “Not so old fashioned” was served with some extra sweet syrup, orange bitters, and a twist of orange peel. This one is also going on my new A-rotation.
Other signature cocktails include:
Cucumber Stiletto which features Ketel One Citroen, St. Germain, muddled cucumber, and mint.
Strawberry Cobbler: Belvedere, fresh muddle strawberry, and graham cracker crust rim.
Summertime Fling: brugal rum, rose wine, st germain, cranberry, topped with bubbles
Green Intensity: absolut elyx, fresh lime, jalepeno, and basil
Secret Affair: Purity vodka, lime, red chili pepper, watermelon, and tajin rim. (A winner according to my dining companion.)
STK Orlando definitely has a different vibe than any other location at Disney Springs. Something more long the lines of a chic nightclub / lounge on one level and a classic bistro bar on the second. Both levels have bars where you can saddle up and try one of the signature drinks or anything else you want.
Even if you’re not planning to eat a meal at STK Orlando, it’s worth a visit to the bar for the unique vibe.
