Disney’s Gary Buchanan and Star Wars Weekends celebrity host James Arnold Taylor demonstrate some of the ways you can have even more interactive fun at this year’s Star Wars Weekends. Disney has leveraged the technology of Aurasma’s Augmented Reality App to add a new dimension to the popular event.
Downloas the Aurasma app from the Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iPhones. According to Disney, while the app. will prompt you to register, you are not required to do so. You can choose to advance by clicking “Skip” in the lower right on the final welcome screen. That’s good to know.
This is really the first time Disney has used Augmented Reality inside the parks. i hope it turns into a success and makes its way into other parts of the parks. If we have to drag around our phones for MyMagic+, it will be nice to get other uses out of them.
If you’re at Star Wars Weekends and have used the Aurasma app, let us know what you thought of the process.
I used this app at Star Wars Weekend and was blown away by how cool it was! Whether in Darth’s Mall in front of the backdrops, or from the shirts or maps, I’ve used this several times and been amazed again and again. Please bring more opportunities to WDW!
