The latest Food Truck Pod to hit Orlando is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Walt Disney World and it’s launching tonight. I’ve dropped by before a visit to Downtown Disney to visit some of my favorite food trucks from around Orlando. The six setting up shop for the night are: Big Wheel Truck, Treehouse Truck, The Crooked Spoon, Korean BBQ Taco Box, Winter Park Fish Co (left early due to generator issues ), and the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.
The event started at 4:30pm and will run until 9:00pm (or sooner if the trucks run out of food, which sometimes happens). Bring something to sit on and patience. It’s also helpful to have a plan to split up and then rendezvous with treats from various trucks.
Tonight I finally was able to experience a ChiMoo sandwich from the Tree House Truck the way it was meant to be enjoyed. And enjoy it I did. There is nothing else out there like it. Chicken, beef, coleslaw, sweet potato fries and mango BBQ sauce on a roll the size of your forearm.
This pod is only three minutes away from Downtown Disney, so I hope to see a lot of Disney fans make it over in the coming weeks.
Previously: Food Truck Craze Comes (close) to Disney World.
Are the food trucks the same each week, or do they change?
They will be mostly the same. Sometimes a new truck does pop in. Watch TheDailyCity.com for updates, but I’ll try and post updates here too.
