Dapper Day at Disneyland – Fall 2011 on September 9th

We’re happy to hear a second Dapper Day at Disneyland has been announced. It actually more of a Dapper Evening starting at 6pm at running through midnight at the Disneyland Resort. There are two scheduled ‘events’ to meet up and celebrate your dapper-ness together. But otherwise, the idea is just to dress dapper and have fun.

8pm THE DAPPER DERBY – Meet at King Arthur’s Carousel and show Fantasyland how to properly ride a white horse! The photos from this will be amazing. (Start gathering nearby around 7:45 and then we’ll all get in line together at 8.)

11:30pm AFTER DAPPER DRINKS in the Disneyland Hotel courtyard, and the just-opened Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar (Take the monorail from Tomorrowland or walk to the hotel. Trader Sam’s is near the pool area. There are other bars in the courtyard also, should it get too busy. All resort bars close at 1:30am)

According to the event organizer, a lot of people misunderstood the first Dapper Day to be about dressing retro-hip, but it’s NOT just about vintage looks. It’s actually about simply dressing for an upscale night out as one would for any sophisticated affair. If everybody dressed in fun styles from all time periods that the park has existed through – the 50’s to today – it would be like those classic Imagineering renderings were brought to life. Even more contemporary looks, even 80’s Videopolis era, and some 70’s disco thrown in, would be outstanding.

Also, this year’s evening was intentionally scheduled to be the night after Fashion’s Night Out which is a big multi-city evening shopping party.

No annual passes are blocked out Fri, Sept 9 2011.
Disneyland closes at 11pm, Disney’s California Adventure at 10pm.
Disneyland fireworks at 9:30, World of Color water spectacular at DCA at 9 and 10:15pm.
See the NEW Little Mermaid ride, AND the new Star Tours adventure.
This is not a private ticketed event, but simply a day to visit the parks in style with other dapper guests.
