The Walt Disney Company now holds 5 of the top 10 spots on the all time box office list according to worldwide grosses. No other studio holds more than 2.
- #4 Pirates Of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest – $1,066M
#5 Toy Story 3 – $1,063M
#6 Alice in Wonderland (2010) – $1,024M
#8 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides – $986M (still in theaters)
#10 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – $953M
Not too shabby. Nine of the 10 movies were produced in the last 10 years, so numbers a little skewed by new technologies like Digital 3D and IMAX. It still shows the power of a great franchise. (Speaking of which, shouldn’t we be seeing a sequel to Alice in Wonderland at some point?)
Which of Disney’s top grossing films is your favorite?

I also find it crazy that Johnny is in 4 of those movies! Perhaps it is him that is driving the franchise, they should put in more movies I think!

Erica, while I do love Johnny Depp, I think a live action Disney movie without him would be nice, too.
