If the phrase “It’s American as Apple Pie” makes you hungry. If Twin Peaks make you think of Coffee and Cherry Pie? If you’re going to be in the Orlando area April 9-10th? Then you need to get down to the Great American Pie Festival in Celebration, FL.
For the tenth year in a row, the town of Celebration, Florida will become the Pie Capital of the World April 9th and 10th when thousands of pie lovers, tasters and bakers gather together the Great American Pie Festival sponsored by Crisco®. The highlight, as always, will be the Never-Ending Pie Buffet, featuring award-winning pie, ice cream, toppings and beverages from some of our fine sponsors!
This year, pie lovers from across the country will be treated to sweet offerings by Bakers Square Restaurants and Pies, Bonert’s Slice of Pie, California Raisin Marketing Board, J. Horner’s Desserts, Kroger’s Private Selection, Publix Super Markets, Inc., Rocky Mountain Pies, Smucker’s Toppings, The Folger Coffee Company, Village Inn and Wick’s Pies.
Thousands of children will make their own pies at the Crisco Kids Creation Station. There will be pie decorating, pie scaping, pie tin art and many more pie activities to enjoy. The Pietopia Demonstration Stage sponsored by Village Inn and Bakers Square Restaurants featured entertainment and baking demonstration by chefs from across the country. Of course, no pie festival would be complete without a Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Private Selection.
The festival is free, however, the Never Ending Pie Buffet does require $10 for adults and $5 for children.
I have been given one family four-pack to the Never Ending Pie Buffet at the Great American Pie Festival to give away. Please enter only if you can attend the festival.
To enter: First, leave a comment on this blog post with your favorite Disney theme park dessert item and where to find it. Make sure you provide a valid email address. Then make sure you’re a fan of The Disney Blog on Facebook by ‘liking’ the fan page. The winner can pick up their wristbands at will call. That’s it. I’ll pick one winner from among all the valid entries.
Deadline for entries is Tuesday April 5th at 11:59PM ET. Not valid where prohibited by law.
Good luck. I know you’ll enjoy this great American event. After all, who doesn’t like pie?

I love the Rice Cream from Kringla Bakeri og Cafe at the Norway pavilion in Epcot! The Cloudberry Horn isn’t too shabby, either! ;)
Citrus Swirl / Orange Whip. Next to the Enchanted Tiki Birds
There are other deserts i love but none of them come close to Dole Whip for me. When I see Aloha Isle in sight while i’m at MK it’s as though my stomach is automatically empty, no matter how full i was a second ago.
There are so many great desserts to choose from-hard to pick! But if I’d have to pick one it would be the Zebra Domes at Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge…so delicious, and it’s a buffet so you can have as many as you want!! :)
I’m a simple desserter — my favorites are ice creams. Either the pineapple soft-serve at the Dole Whip stand, or a scoop of vanilla at DHS’s Hollywood Scoops. In both places, the people-watching as you eat makes it even more delicious.
No facebook here, but I’d love to win this!
schoolbread in Norway !!
Sweets are my favorite food at WDW. I would have to say my favorite dessert is a tie between Dole Whips at the Magic Kingdom and funnel cakes from the American pavilion at EPCOT.
If it has to be in a theme park, no doubt the world famous Dole Whip. If I can pick something outside of the parks but still on property, then the Gluten-Free Donut from babycakes nyc at the Downtown Disney resort is hands down the best donut I have ever eaten…EVER!
I love the Dole Whip so much that it didn’t seem out of the ordinary for my husband to suggest we go to Magic Kingdom just for dessert and fireworks in September ’08. He proposed that night and made dole whips and Wishes! even more special!

Mickey premium, grab it at an outdoor ice cream vendor in any park or downtown Disney! There’s something to be said about keeping ice cream novelties simple and delicious….the premium does just that :D
We love the apple cake with almond sorbet from the restaurant in Italy at Epcot :)
This past trip we went to Boma for the first time. I have to say that all of us are now huge fans of the Zebra Domes. My son and I ate way too many of them, but they are too good to resist! Can’t wait to go back soon!
The sole reason to go to Magic Kingdom sometimes is to grab a Dole Whip. Pineapple goodness!! But if I am in Downtown Disney area I like to get either a chocolate covered Mickey rice crispie treat on a stick or a caramel apple from the West side.
Hands down, the best dessert in Disney is the Apple Strudel at the buffet in Germany in Epcot! After that, I would have to say that the Irish chocolate cake thingy sold at the booth near England during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is the next best dessert I’ve had there. Absolutely cannot wait for the pie festival — I have a 9-year old son who is a pie fanatic and he is counting the days — he claims he is going to try and enter the pie-eating contest!
Congrats to Carolyn! She was drawn as the winner for the free family four pack!
I love Dole Whips too!
Oh my Gosh!! That is FANTASTIC — thank you so very very much!
