I was inspired to find this week’s videopolis after seeing Youtube user Ally Townsend profiled on ABC News as the person of the week. You see Ally makes covers of songs and uploads them to YouTube, which isn’t different than thousands of other Youtube artists, but Ally does it using American Sign Language (ASL).
Alas, Ally hasn’t yet posted any videos with ASL covers of Disney songs. But there is this popular video featuring a sign language duet of “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin is a great example of the genre.
I don’t know about you, but I find songs told through ASL beautiful. Whenever Disney has ASL assisted shows at the parks, I find myself watching the interpreter as much as the show.
thanks so much for sharing this!

We had ASL interpreters at my high school and instead of doing my work I would sit and watch them leading me to take 21/2 years of ASL in college and to now teach it to my kids. mrdaps video taped the Candlelight at DLR and he got the interpreter in the shot so I watched her ;) thanks for sharing this link.
They are so beautiful. Their faces are even more amazing than their gestures. Thanks for sharing. Awesome! Disney magic at its purest!
