ABC has announced its schedule of shows for this fall’s premiere season. Five new shows are included:

Tuesday, Sept. 21
8PM: ‘Dancing with the Stars Results’ (special performance show night and time)
10PM: ‘Detroit 1-8-7’
Wednesday, Sept. 22
8PM: ‘The Middle’
8:30PM: ‘Better With You’ (formerly called ‘Better Together’)
9PM: ‘Modern Family’
9:30PM: ‘Cougar Town’
10PM: ‘The Whole Truth’
Thursday, Sept. 23
8PM: ‘My Generation’
9PM: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
10PM: ‘Private Practice’
Friday, Sept. 24
10PM: ’20/20′
Sunday, Sept. 26
7PM: ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’
8PM: ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’
9PM: ‘Desperate Housewives’
10PM: ‘Brothers & Sisters’
Tuesday, Sept. 28
8PM: ‘No Ordinary Family’
9PM: ‘Dancing with the Stars The Results Show’
Of the existing shows that are returning I’m most looking forward to Castle. Of course, Modern Family is great too. Of the new shows ‘No Ordinary Family’ (about a family of superheroes (think The Incredibles)) shows the most promise. Detroit 1-8-7 about a homicide detective sounds worth watching as well.

Did they drop Better Off Ted? That’s a funny show.
Wow, ABC sure has fallen a long way from the just a couple of years ago. Almost nothing looks interesting. As a devoted watched of ALIAS, LOST, PUSHING DAISIES and INVASION, it’s sad to see that ABC has totally abandoned the “intelligent viewer” demographic. This upcoming season looks like a “lowest common denominator” lineup, of which I’ll be watching very little…
