The OC Register reports that the “Jewel of Orleans” store n the New Orleans Square section of Disneyland has decided to close its doors. The reasons are as you might expect, the economy just doesn’t justify keeping this location open. That’s a shame for this family owned store.
One thing that struck me as odd was the question of what should go into that location. Ideally it should be another privately owned specialty store. It’s important to keep the unique feel created by those specialty stores. The answer seems obvious to me, a create-your-own perfume store.
If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s what was in there previous to the jewelry store. That store was forced to leave during a ‘re-imagination’ of the New Orleans Square area. I think fans and guests would welcome it back.
