The first webisode, Heritage, from Disneynature’s EARTH takes you through Walt Disneys dream of creating nature documentaries, from his Bambi and True Life Adventures to the creation of the Disneynature label in his legacy. Award-winning Director Alastair Fothergill also speaks about the EARTH documentary and the spectacular scenes featured.
Don’t forget that EARTH arrives in theaters on Earth Day, April 22, 2009 – and for every person who sees the film its opening week, Disney will plant a tree in the highly endangered Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest in their honor!
Hmmm. So it *is* a regurgitation of the BBC series. I have it on DVD and love it. And yes, I will probably go see this in the theater to take advantage of the “big screen” experience.
But despite all that, I have to express some disappointment that this is something I’ve already seen. I would have had more excitement and anticipation for new footage.

Well it was always known to be a re-release (with new narration) of the BBC film.

I don’t think it’s a re-edit or a regurgitation at all. This is footage they did not use in the BBC series at that time. Yes, it was shot when they were shooting Planet Earth, but it wasn’t used.
