Mark, our usual Dancing with the Stars reviewer, is on vacation. And, I did not get a chance to watch the premier episode of the show, so that means I’ll have to leave you in the capable hands of Orlando Sentinel’s TV Guy.
Lance Bass and Brooke Burke are the frontrunners, but Cloris Leachman and Warren Sapp are the most valuable players. Another season of “Dancing With the Stars” started with many surprises Monday.
Leachman, an 82-year-old Oscar-winner, brought delightful zaniness to the season premiere. The foxtrot she performed with Corky Ballas had a dangerous quality: Might she stumble? She didn’t, thankfully. But afterward, she proved her true worth by launching into a routine worthy of a Mel Brooks movie.
Mark will be back with his regular recaps next episode. In the meantime, feel free to chime in with who you think will be the first to go and your early predictions for who will go all the way.
Lance and Lacey are definitely the ones to beat, but I think Warren Sapp could be a serious contender based on his Emmett Smith likeability factor. And one should never count out Cody and Julianne – that girl knows what it takes to win! Women have a tougher time on the show, and I don’t know that any of the ladies have what it takes to make it to the finals, sadly.
