Since The Walt Disney Company is the only tenant at the El Capitan movie palace in Hollywood, most people probably don’t realize that Disney doesn’t own the actual historic theater. Yes, they hold most of their movie premieres there. Yes, they did invest millions in renovating it; but they just have a long term lease on the space. The actual owner is now ready to sell the property. It can be yours for a cool $31 million. Considering its location in a rejuvenated Hollywood. That’s probably a good deal.
I was wondering why the El Capitan was suddenly reaching out to Disney bloggers for social media promotion. Now I know.
Having just been down there for the first time, I hope whoever buys it lets Disney keep its lease or renew or whatever. It was really wonderful.
