Before I begin, I want to offer condolences to Jane Seymour. They announced near the start of the show that Jane’s mother passed away Monday night. I’m sure the next few weeks will be hard on her, but she has decided to stay in the competition because her mom loved the British version of the show so much. I admire her courage and wish her the best in the weeks to come.
So let’s get to the results, shall we?
I’m really not surprised that the judges picked Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough for the encore. That Mambo was so much fun and just about perfect. There were a couple strong dances, but this was easily the best one of the night.
Bottom Two:
Wayne Newton & Cheryl Burke
Albert Reed & Anna Trebunskaya
Well, I was completely wrong on who would be leaving. And I’m glad that Mark Cuban will be around for another week. I was right on Wayne being in the bottom two and Albert was one of my alternates, so at least I was close.
The curse of the model strikes for the second week in a row as Albert is sent packing. They talked about the audience being stunned, but you could tell that Cheryl was completely stunned as well. I’m sure she thought she was going home. I know I figured it was Wayne’s turn to leave when they told us Mark was moving on.
I’m sorry to see Albert go since he was showing potential. Unless Wayne really steps up, I think his days are numbered. Hopefully, this reprieve will give him time to get things figured out and he will come back stronger next week.
