More details have emerged concerning the recent small explosion in a trash can in a parking lot area of Walt Disney World Resort’s Downtown Disney shopping and entertainment district. Looks like it’s nothing to worry about for now.
What does worry me is the safety of Disney Employees, especially the custodial workers who would be most likely to randomly encounter a device such as this. This explosion may have just damaged the door or a trashcan, but it could have seriously injured someone handling the device unknowingly. I’m curious what sort of safety procedures the Disney company has in place for employees checking trash bins and other potential hiding spots for explosive devices? Call security if you see something? Hopefully it’s a little more involved than that. I’m sure there will be a few more employees giving a visual inspection of the trash before they haul it out with their hands.
