When one is looking for a charity to support, one might first look for non profit organizations that you share an affinity with. Then among those non profits you might want to find a mission that is important and a charity that will be responsible with your donations. For fans of the Walt Disney Company, Give Kids The World meets all the criteria.
Give Kids The World (GKTW) exists to fulfill the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses whose one wish is to visit one of Central Florida’s world famous attractions. We all want to have a magical vacation full of memories and good times for the family. GKTW provides that for children whose normal life is one of doctors and hospital visits.
Give Kids The World uses donations responsibly with 93% of every dollar spent going directly to fulfilling dreams. GKTW is the #1 rated charity based in Florida, and one of the top 20 nationwide, according to Charity Navigator.
Founded in 1986 by hotelier, and President Jimmy Carter Humanitarian Award winner Henri Landwirth, Give Kids The World continues to provide week-long, cost-free vacations for these special children and their families, for as long as there is a need.
Kevin Yee at Miceage.com has initiated a challenge for the Disney Fan Community. Can we raise enough money over the next few years to sponsor a villa for the children of Give Kids The World.
I know we can. But to do it we need your help. Every little amount helps. If you can donate $25 or more you’ll be entered into a drawing where you might win one of many prizes Kevin has graciously provided.
Like Kevin, I have never asked for donations to support this site before hopefully building up a little goodwill. I’d like to spend that goodwill and ask you to donate now to Give Kids The World on behalf of the Disney Fan Community.
