The Orlando Sentinel has an interview with
Bill Davis who recently became president of Universal Orlando Resort. Davis clears up the rumors about Back To The Future – It’s still operating, but is poised to be replaced with a new attraction at some point, possibly in the near future. However, Davis adds fuel to the speculation (in a "no comment" is not a denial sort of way) that Universal Studios might get their hands on the theme park rights to Harry Potter.
Frankly, I think J.K. Rowling is insane if she gives those rights to anyone that doesn’t plan to make her world the centerpiece of their theme park. She’s done writing the books, she has time now to manage the theme park life of her creations. I hope she’ll be there along the way to make sure justice is done to both the characters and the story in whomever gets to build.
