IAAPA, the Int’l Assoc. of Amusement Parks and Attractions, just wrapped up its yearly attractions expo. This was the second year in Atlanta for the event. It returns to Orlando for two years, then will begin alternating between Las Vegas and Orlando (although I wonder how long that will last once they realize how cold it can get in Las Vegas in mid-November).
The New York Times sums things up with an article that looks at a few of the popular items at the expo this year. Of course, they didn’t mention the food (that was a big hit the year I was there) or the education sessions. As for Disney, they’re usually a step or three ahead of the attractions being pitched at IAAPA, but sometimes they find something they want to use. Two years ago it was a robotic arm roller coaster, wonder that it was this year.
