A new report shows that Disney’s Magical Express is good news for the Orlando Internation Airport bringing increased revenues and less congestion to the airport. This year the service on on a pace to deliver more than 2 million guests directly to Disney’s doorstep.
The release of revenue numbers for the program reveals interesting facts about the number of people who arrive at the airport to visit Disney World each week. Numbers that Disney has not been willing to divulge before.
According to the data, it’s not uncommon for Disney to transport more
than 7,000 people in a single day from the airport to its resort. The
number reached a high at 10,439 people Oct. 1, 2005.
These are all people who would have paid a shuttle service, taxi, or car rental prior to using Disney’s free service. So needless to say it’s been hard on those who previously relied on airport traffic to fill their transportation vehicles.
