The first steps are underway to make ready for a new Disney theme park in Shanghai.
The theme park is expected to open in 2010 to coincide with the 2010 World Expo the city will host, the report said. The city is still awaiting final approval from the central government for a Disney theme park.
So what are those first steps? How about relocating residents off a 4.5 acre piece of land that will be needed for the new resort. No worry about Property Rights vs. Private Development over there.
Btw, I’ve been hearing that if Disney does build in Shanghai it won’t be a ‘Magic Kingdom’ model (a copy of the original Disneyland) but instead be a brand new theme created soley for Shanghai’s unique market. (link)
