Javier Grillo-Marxuach, one of the original show writers on ABC’s hit TV show LOST has announced on his blog that he is leaving the production. Fans want to know why?
The simple truth is my work is done. As television series change and
evolve, so do the things they require from the writers and producers in
their staffs. I have contributed everything I had to “lost” and now the
time has come for other writers to step in and make their own
contributions in their own voices.
This is sad news for fans as Javier was one of the most active writers at TheFuselage, a LOST forum. But I wish him the best in his next endeavors.

The networks should have the integrity to do TV series that have a beginning, middle and end. When the series is done, they should end it, not allow it to slowly deteriorate into dreck until the ratings crash.
Some day, DVD sales of series may motivate this sort of compete series.
