SeaWorld has released more details about the water park they intend to open across the street from their existing theme park. It looks like their going for more of an upscale experience, an angle that has worked well for them at Discovery Cove.
SeaWorld officials said one of the park’s signature elements would be an attraction that would swoosh swimsuit-clad visitors down clear acrylic flumes amid a lagoon of jumping Commerson’s dolphins, a rare species native to South America.
Of course the neighbors aren’t happy. Right now there is a good 500 yards of forest between SeaWorld and the Williamsburg neighborhood, plus a stretch of power lines. If SeaWorld does build this Water Park, then only the power lines will remain as a buffer. Still you buy a house next to a themepark and you have to expect expansion.
