Holidays are always tough. It’s tough tying up loose ends while shopping for that special someone or someones, tough getting those last minute details together on who will be visiting whom for the holidays, tough when you can’t get that last minute item framed. But for many folk out there the holidays are tough because a child’s illness means they might have to go without this year.
Here are two worthy charities that can use your money today to help make the holidays a little brighter for sick children and their families.
First is Give Kids The World. They have a property in Orlando where children and their families can stay together during treatment and perhaps enjoy some of the fun opportunities the Orlando area offers. They were hit by the Hurricanes this year and they are in the middle of a growth effort so they can help more children next year. Please consider giving what ever amount you can this year. They even have an online donation page.
On the other coast is the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). As a safety-net hospital, CHOC maintains a responsibility to treat every child seeking medical treatment regardless of their ability to pay for services. They also have a program to get toys to sick children. CHOC is also one of the favored recipients of Disneyland’s many volunteer cast members. You can buy a brick through via this PDF and the Pave The Way program or just make an online donation.
Thank you for taking the time to consider these two great chances to make a difference this year.
Can you please tell me how I can help a child to be the recipient of a Disney vacatioin? He is very sick but in remission.
Thank you!
