The Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland was the first attraction to utlize animatronic figures on a large scale. Since it’s 1963 opening the birds have been entertaining thousands of guests daily. In the 90s an edit was performed on the show to bring it down in length and give the aging animatronics some additional rest time throughout the day.
For many years now the show and the show building has looked less and less enchanting and has lacked some much needed TLC. Well it looks like it will be getting some soon. A poster on LaughingPlace.com’s community boards posts his encounter with Marty Sklar, President of Walt Disney Imagineering, much rejoicing follows.
