One of the things that fascinates me about Disneyland and Disney World is what goes on in the life of a Cast Member. Lucky for me and you they think their lives are fascinating too and post about them on the web. Here’s a site from CM Tom at WDW. Tom’s a member of the College Internship program. That means he gets to experience a wide variety of positions at The World. This usually makes for some good reading.
In 1994, Walt Disney World closed the attraction 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to the public. The ride sat unused for 10 years until now. The ride is in the process of demolition to “clear way” for future use in Fantasyland.
Tom has photos of the demolition in process on his photoblog. It’s sad that both Submarine rides have sat unused for so long. It’s good they’re doing something with the space, unfortunately the skinny is there are no current plans to build anything there. Just to prepare the space for future development.
To complete the experience Tom also has a Moblog. Unfortunately his camera phone needs to be focused a little better. It does, however, include this nice quicktime movie of the finale to Disney World’s new fireworks show – Wishes.
