I worked in Downtown LA for three years in one of the skyscrapers. My floor had an amazing view of the Disney Hall under construction. I watched it grow from the basic parking lot up to a complete skeleton with the first layers of that funky stainless steel skin being applied. Then I moved away from SoCal and lost track of the Disney Hall project. I’ve listened to a few shows broadcast from the hall and followed the story online. All in all, it looks like another very successful project for Downtown Los Angeles. And you can thank Lillian Disney for all of it.
There’s one group who does not have happy thoughts right now. That’s the construction company and the lawyers who work for them. LA Times has the story (nasty free subscription required).
