Sad news from the zoologists at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Ibala, the 26-year-old African elephant that lost her baby last month, has died from an infection related to the pregnancy. A successful birth would have been Disney World’s third in the last three years. A very high rate for any elephant group in captivity.
Just a little ‘mouse’keeping note: I’m in the process of moving The Disney Blog to its own domain www.TheDisneyBlog.com and onto the MovableType blogging platform. I’m working with LivingDot.com for the hosting and everyone there has been very helpful so far. So let’s hope things go smoothly.
