New ‘Cars’ Trailer at Apple

Cars_trailerI am beginning to get excited about the next film from Pixar. Cars follows a race car named Lightning McQueen as he travels across the country to make it to the track for a big race. A new trailer was released this weekend that begins to show how the film will work, what with talking cars and all. I have to admit that has been one of my big worries. But then again, so was talking fish and look how Finding Nemo worked out.

The fact that this film has John Lasseter at the helm makes me even more excited.

The image above is a frame I pulled from the trailer. Don’t look at it closely unless you want a possible spoiler revealed. (see below the cut for spoiler)

Disneyland at capacity: stay home

It’s being reported on various discussion boards that Disneyland has reached capacity a few times already this holiday season. On those days they’ve stopped selling new tickets to the park and even totally closed the gates at least once (veteran’s day). LA Times: The bell rings for thee Hollywood

A great article in the LA Times talking about how movie studios are facing big changes in their business model. What’s really driving the studio folks crazy is that a huge chunk of their core constituency — young moviegoers — has evaporated. Poof! They’ve scattered to the winds. Young males aren’t just AWOL from movie… Read More »LA Times: The bell rings for thee Hollywood

Argh Mateys! Captain Jack is Back!

Three bits of Pirates of the Caribbean news today. First, the planned overlay of Disneyland and Disney World’s Pirates of the Caribbean attractions looks to be going forward. Scenes from the three movies will be squeezed in to dead areas of the ride leaving the existing scenes mostly untouched. Some of the most advanced Audio-Animatronics… Read More »Argh Mateys! Hong Kong Disneyland: space available!

You know all those winnies who say Disney’s Hong Kong resort is not meeting its attendance goals? Well Disney says they’re all full of fluff. No doubt feeling a bit of pressure, Disney has announced that the one millionth guest has already passed through the dates of Hong Kong Disneyland. But that’s not enough to… Read More »Hong Kong Disneyland: space available!
