High School Musical to hit the road as a Musical Stage Show
Disney Theatrical Productions has announced the launch of a touring "High School Musical" stage production. The show will eventually reach of 60 cities across the US and Canada, although just a few have been announced right now. For fans of "High School Musical" it’s important to note that this is not like the concert and will not feature, at this point at least, any of the stars from the Disney Channel Movie. Instead this is a continuation of the very successful production that has played at Atlanta’s Theatre of the Stars. So please go and enjoy the show, but don’t expect to see Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale or any of the other stars from the movie.
The first cities announced include: Fisher Theatre in Detroit from June 26th – July 8th, the Academy of Music at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in
Philadelphia (July 11th – 22nd), and the LaSalle Bank Theatre in
Chicago (July 25th – September 2nd). In addition, "Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour," being produced by Feld
Entertainment in cooperation with Disney Theatrical Productions, and will
hit the ice starting on September 29th.
