Walt Disney World Reinstates Regular Housekeeping This Month

Walt Disney World Housekeeping

Due to numerous requests by guests who have been unhappy with reduced housekeeping services since the pandemic, Walt Disney World has announced that they will be bringing housekeeping services back to pre-pandemic levels.

The Details

Walt Disney World says that by the end of February 2023, full housekeeping room services will once again be available for all Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms, with services provided daily or every other day depending on the resort.

Full housekeeping services provided…or “Mousekeeping” as it’s also called…includes replacing towels and amenities, cleaning the bathrooms, making the beds, vacuuming, and emptying trash and recycling.

This is a big improvement over the current once or twice weekly services which have been in place since the resorts started reopening from the pandemic closure.

Disney hasn’t said which resorts will be daily and which will be every other day, but most likely the Value resorts (All-Stars, Pop Century, and Art of Animation) will be in the later category.

Newly Refurbished Rooms

As part of the announcement, Disney also mentioned that newly refurbished rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will start debuting to guests over the coming weeks.

If you get one, let us know what you think. It’s all part of a revamp of the resort that includes a new deli, new coffee shop, and an upcoming cake and baked goods restaurant.

Other Returning Amenities

Also contributing to happier guests, Walt Disney World rolled back self-parking fees at resorts due to numerous complaints. As of January 10, 2023, self-parking is now complimentary, which is a savings of $20+ for each night of a guest’s stay.
