Three attractions get makeovers for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Each fall Halloween takes over the Magic Kingdom in the fan favorite event Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This year the spooky family fun starts earlier in the year than ever and with new twists and treats to entertain throughout the night.

Three attractions are adding Halloween overlays this year:

  • In Fantasyland the Mad Tea Party will change up the lighting and add some spooky effects to give a new spin on the night. From what I’ve heard there will be blacklights, so dress appropriately.
  • Adventureland will experience a new Pirates of the Caribbean adventure when new characters join the ride interacting with sailing guests as they hunt for “Gunpowder Pete.”
  • The journey into space in Tomorrowland will feature a new soundtrack and special effects. This new version of Space Mountain promises to be a fan favorite.

A new dance party also joins this fun this year. The Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam will bring beloved Disney Junior Characters, including Doc McStuffins, to the party.

Of course there will be the “Boo to You” parade (although maybe with a new name this year), the Headless Horseman, the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” castle show, and lots of trick-or-treating sweets to be had.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts August 17 and runs on select nights through Oct 31, 2018. A separate ticket is required for admission, but you are allowed into the park as early as 4pm.

If you’ve been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before, what are your tips for maximizing your family-friendly spooky thrills?
