It must be travel award season. We just covered that Disney Cruise Line won best family and best dining cruise line from Cruise Critics, now Condé Nast Traveler announced the results of its 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards which places the Disney Cruise Line as the top cruise line in the world.
The contest compared over 500 cruise ships to discover the best cruise experience. Over 300,000 readers participated in voting this year, nearly twice as many as last year. Readers of Condé Nast Traveler know their stuff when it comes to travel, and luxury travel in particular. So for Disney to win against some of the other great cruise lines, is a great achievement.
Disney Cruise Line also took top honors from the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
In addition to the awards, the magazine revealed four new travel trends:
- Luxury, all-inclusive resorts are for a wide cadre of travelers, not just couples.
- Caribbean properties are stronger than ever despite recent health alarms.
- Italy cannot be beat.
- U.S. secondary cities are more popular than ever.
The Readers’ Choice Awards are announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide on October 25, 2016.
