I really shouldn’t post the Disney version of the latest, and very misogynist, meme – exploding actresses. But the Exploding Disney Princesses video is also creative and very funny. There’s just a smidgen of gore, but it’s not too bad.
The force behind Exploding Actresses is Italian filmmaker Simone Rovellini. Once I got over my squeamishness and the suspense of waiting for the head to explode, it is an impressive bit of film editing.
He’s also produced a Lion King version that’s horribly inappropriate in its own way:
As far as I can tell, Rovellini has not posted his reason for making these films. It’s art, so he really doesn’t have to. One things for certain, these films would have been a lot shorter if Rovellini had his way.
Yeah… I get that it’s artistic, though I wouldn’t call it “art.” But I guess that’s subjective. I’m not an uptight Disney fan (as an example, I liked the After Ever After video). These, though, I’ve gotta admit… I didn’t crack a smile at all. No offense taken at them being posted, of course; I just found them disgusting and not comical. YMMV.
