With The Princess and the Frog going wide this week, it looks like we have a new Disney Heroine. Who is your favorite and why?

I love Princess "Kida" Kidagakash - Kida proves she cares about her people and is willing to make the difficult decision to revive the crystal, against her father's will, as she feels it is the right thing to do for her people. She has a unique beauty between her white hair and tattoos - she doesn't look like the typical Disney heroine - she is exotic and athletic, but also proves her care and compassion for her people.

My favorite Disney Heroine is Snow White. She is beautiful. She is also the only dark haired princess, or at least she was. Also, she took care of seven men, how many women, including princesses can handle that job?

I would have to say that my favorite Disney heroine is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She's very down to Earth, enjoys the simple things in life (reading, nature) and goes through (and puts up with) so much with Beast because she sees the good in him.

My favorite heroine is Aurora, Sleeping Beauty, Briar Rose. You got to love a woman that has three names. Actually I enjoy her mostly becuase this is my favorite Disney film. I think I have three versions of the VHS tape, 2 DVDs, and now a Blu-ray.

My favorite Disney heroine is Mulan. She's responsible, resourceful, and knows how to fight for her family and her country. Mulan is the one "girly" movie that my boys will watch over and over with me without a fight.

I'm aslo going to have to go with Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She is independent, strong, bright and capable. She is not one to be pushed around and is capable of doing things on her own. She isn't waiting for her prince to come rescue her, for her fairy god mother to deliver her making foolish bargins, ect. She is her own strong, independent person.

Plus, I really enjoyed watching 'her' at Epcot once chase down and convince a hestitant young man to pose with her and his younger sister. Of all the princesses I've encountered at Disney, Belle's mannerisms and how she interact with people just seem the most, for lack of a better term, real and what I would want my little girl to look to. That is why there is already a Belle doll waiting to go under our Christmas tree.

Maybe because she's from my favorite movie growing up or maybe its because of memories of my grandma frequently imitating Eva Gabor but I'd have to say Miss Bianca from the Rescuers. I guess it has to do with her strength, caring and determination and the fact that in my own life I was much like Bernard.

My favorite Disney Heroine has to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast for several reasons. First, she’s smart and a reader (bonus points). Second, she’s brave (She walks off into a forest and into a spooky castle to find and help a loved one). Third, she’s not afraid to speak her mind (just look how she talks to Gaston and how she scolds Beast after he saves her from the wolves). Forth, she’s able to look past the physical and see a persons true self.

My favorite Disney heroine is Meg from Hercules. I love how tough she pretends to be and she loves Hercules but won't say it out loud.

My favorite disney heroine? Belle is a good choice, as is Meg--I like them both. Esmerelda is one of my favorites, though, because of her strong will and loving spirit.

My favorite Disney Heroine is Mary Poppins! She is a good role model for the kids. She doesn't put up with nonsense, but she can still have fun! She is strict and demands respect, but she still allows the kids to be kids! She's "practically perfect in every way!".

My favorite is Miss Eglantine Price, from Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Self-sufficient scholar, a little dotty, but more than capable of taking care of everyone (and kicking some German tail while doing so!)

Princess Tiana is my favorite because she's in New Orleans, like me, and shares my love of the city along with its food, music, culture, and people. I like how her character strives to make it with her own restaurant, despite many setbacks, and never gives up until she reaches her goal and lives her dream. She reminds me of famous New Orleans restauranteur Lea Chase, who also found that dreams do come true down in New Orleans!

Pocahontas. Everything about her takes my breath away and I want to be friends. I love her connection to the earth, intuitiveness to the world around her, longing for deeper spirituat understanding, and constantly questioning herself to be a better person while strong in her confiction of justice. And I like how she goes barefoot (though Briar Rose does too).

I'd also like to give a shout out to Princess Eilonwy- because I think she was the first really independent princess... and because I'm sure no one else will mention her. Poor forgotten princess.
