Second American Idol Judge Revealed

Auditions for the revival of American Idol coming to ABC have been underway for a few weeks. In previous seasons, you’d expect the show’s judges to make appearances at the auditions, but until yesterday we knew just one of the judges – Katy Perry.

We now know the name of the second judge and it’s popular country singer Luke Bryan. The popular reality TV singing competition usually has a three judge panel who shepherds hopeful contestants from the audition process through the live-performances and eventually helping choose a winner.

Other names that have been mentioned as potential judges include Lionel Richie and Charlie Puth. Previous judges, including: Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban (although it looks like Bryan has filled the ‘country singer’ role) could also return. Ryan Seacrest has already announced he will be returning as the host.

If you’re not familiar with Bryan’s bona fides, he’s been a atop the Billboard Country Album charts with each of his five albums, the first of which was released in 2007. His hits include, “Country Girl (Shake it for me),” “That’s My Kind of Night,” and “Kick the Dust Up.”
