Hurricane Irma prep at Disney’s Hollywood Studios reveals Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

We stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a brief visit yesterday where preparations for the arrival or Hurricane Irma were already very visible. To prepare for high winds they are in the process of removing most of the tarps from around the construction areas revealing construction on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the future entrance to Toy Story Land, and the new Grand Avenue area of the park.

Here’s hoping that the parks survive Hurricane Irma with minimal damage and no injury or loss of life. As cool as it is to see this stuff, caution is required in a severe storm. Please be understanding that Hurricane prep may cause some service degradation in the next couple days.

Also note that due to Irma, the Walt Disney Presents attraction will be open, but it won’t have the two new big models for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land just yet. Hurricane prep took priority.

Sorry for the brief update, but things are a bit crazy around here.

  1. Hopefully there’s minimal damage to the parks and they can go back to normal houses soon.

Also hoping you and your family stay safe through Hurricane Irma. Wishing you guys the best and minimal damage.
