Walt Disney World Expands Mobile Order option to 15 food locations

Next time you’re at Walt Disney World and feeling a bit peckish, you can now whip out your personal mobile device and use the new Mobile Order capabilities of the My Disney Experience app to order food at 15 locations across the resort.

The service saves you time at quick service restaurants allowing you to order and pay for your meals on your app, then skip the line when you get to the restaurant. More time to spend enjoying Disney’s magic, right?

There are a few restrictions, you can’t use any discounts and customization options are limited.

After you’ve played your mobile order, you’ll have to go to the restaurant and tap “I’m here, prepare my order” in the app. This tells the kitchen to prepare your meal. Meantime secure a table and all your plasticware. A few minutes later a notification on your phone will alert you to head to the Mobile Order Pick Up window at the restaurant.

Here are the 15 restaurants currently supporting Mobile Order:

Magic Kingdom Park:
Columbia Harbour House
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe
Pinocchio Village Haus
Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant

Epcot:
Electric Umbrella
Liberty Inn

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
ABC Commissary
Backlot Express
PizzeRizzo

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
Flame Tree Barbecue
Pizzafari
Restaurantosaurus
Satu’li Canteen

Disney Springs:
D-Luxe Burger

Expect Disney to continue to expand this service to more quick service and fast-casual locations. Hopefully they’ll soon figure out how to hook it up with the Disney Dining plan, add discounts, and allow you to place orders with dietary restrictions.

Have you tried the mobile order feature at Walt Disney World yet? How did it work for you?

  1. I neither love nor hate the concept. I’m sure at some point I’ll utilize it when it’s a crowded park day and lines are super long. It was a matter of time before WDW integrated this, esp since chains like Starbucks and shake shack have it in place and it works well.

  2. Pretty soon we won’t need “people” do do anything any more, then we will all be too poor to go to Disneyworld.

  3. Just finished 10 days at Disney. I thought the Mobile Ordering is a game changer. It was very easy to use and saved us a ton of line time. We used it five times! The more restaurants that add it the better for me.
