Star Wars: The Last Jedi first trailer

This morning fans at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando were among the very first to see the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It’s now online for us to share with you. The 8th film in the saga of the Skywalker family, The Last Jedi will follow the further adventures of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and the classic characters we all love from the earlier films.

We were very excited to hear the iconic score from John Williams who returned to do the music for The Last Jedi. Also returning are the baddies of the First Order including the helmeted Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), General Hux (Domhnail Gleeson) and Supreme Leader Snoke (motion capture performance by Andy Serkis) who is the mysterious leader of the First Order. Joining the Star Wars universe for the first time are Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern. Also just announced Kelly Marie Tran (About a Boy) plays a new character – Rose.

Episode VIII takes off right where Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended with Rey presenting Luke Skywalker the lightsaber he lost during the battle with Darth Vader on Bespin. The resistance, including General Leia will have to deal with the loss of Han Solo at the point of his son Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. Meanwhile the First Order isn’t giving up and with Supreme Leader Snoke pulling strings, things don’t look good for our heroes.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick). It will open in theaters nationwide on December 15, 2017 including versions in 3D and IMAX 3D.
