There’s something about Disney animation’s “A Goofy Movie” that keeps attracting new fans and inspiring old ones. Take today’s Videopolis for instance. It’s a fantastic recreation of the anthem “Stand Out,” right down to the Principal’s speech. I think they did a fantastic job, but you can check it out here and decide for yourself:

I asked creator Stuart Edge a few questions about the video:

What inspired you to make this video?

I was inspired to make the video because of how big of a fan I am of the movie. The music is the Goofy Movie is one of the best original soundtracks ever.

What was your biggest challenge making the video?

The biggest challenge we faced with making this video, was figuring out how we wanted to do the concert. Did we want to to a love impromptu show? A mini concert in a venue? A small pop up show? An exact replica in a school auditorium. We debated for Almost a year on what we would do, and in the end, we decided that a “Surprise Goofy Movie Concert” would be the best.

Why do you think The Goofy Movie and “Stand Out” still connects with audiences all these years later?

I think the movie resonates so well with people still, because of the music. Most songs in movies fade with time, but the music in a “A Goofy Movie” is so good, that it has stood the test of time.

Spoken like a true fan Stuart. Thank you for sharing your passion with us.

Are you a fan of “A Goofy Movie?” What do you love about it?
