Wine & Dine race feeds hungry runners to EPCOT this Saturday

If you see a line of very hungry people running through Walt Disney World late Saturday night, don’t worry, you’ve stumbled upon the course of the runDisney Wine & Dine half-marathon. This year more than 20,000 runners are expected to lace up their running shoes, tie-on a bib, then work up an appetite racing around Walt Disney World over the event weekend.

The 13.1-mile half marathon course starts at ESPN Wide World of Sports, gallops through Disney’s Animal Kingdom, dashes around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and finishes at EPCOT. Not only do those who finish the race get a coveted medal, they get a private party inside EPCOT’s World Showcase where they can enjoy food & wine from more than 30 kiosks of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

This is a very popular race among the runDisney aficionados. Unlike last year, it looks like the warm weather will stick around for the event. There is a small chance of rain, but highs will be near 87 (although it will be a bit cooler at the 10pm race start time).  Checkout runDisney’s website for more information on the race and related events over the weekend.

Have you ever run a race at Disney World? If so, which one and how did you find the experience?
