Planning your New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World

Over the years, Walt Disney World has earned a well deserved reputation for the place to celebrate the end of one year and ring in the new. It’s such a big event, the Magic Kingdom even celebrates a day early to help with the crowds.

Of course, Walt Disney World is a great place to celebrate all year long, but it gets extra special with all the holiday decorations, the special dining options, extra entertainment, and the extended hours around the new year.

Here’s a look at some of Disney’s entertainment and dining celebrations planned for New Year’s Eve 2015:

Epcot – You can celebrate all night long at Epcot. DJs and live music around World Showcase will bring you to your feet with beats from around the globe. Two showings of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” fireworks spectacular at 6 p.m. and 11:40 p.m., followed by a countdown and pyrotechnic salute to the New Year will top off the celebration.

Magic Kingdom – Get a head start on welcoming 2016 at Magic Kingdom as New Year’s Eve fireworks light up the sky on two nights instead of one. Magic Kingdom will present a jaw-dropping presentation of “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks on both Wednesday, Dec. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 31 at 11:50 p.m.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Rock ’n’ roll into the New Year with a brilliant fireworks spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show will be presented on Dec. 31 near the Hyperion Theater at midnight.

With the Magic Kingdom holding their show one day early and a 6pm showing of Illuminations, you can conceivably see all three shows over the 30th and 31st. Just put on those walking shows and walk through the Boardwalk area to Disney’s Hollywood Studios after an early evening at EPCOT.

But New Year’s Eve isn’t just about Fireworks. It’s also about spending quality time with family & friends. Walt Disney World is rolling out some special dining options where you and your party can sneak in a great meal or some unique treats.

I live in NYC so it never occurred to me to go to Disney for NYE, but what a great idea! A good way to get out of town after the jam-packed holidays up here. Great dining options!
