SeaWorld Orlando Halloween Spooktacular is a great family value

There’s only one Halloween experience in at Orlando’s theme parks that is included with the price of general admission on all weekends in October. That’s SeaWorld Orlando’s Halloween Spooktacular. It’s an ocean of fun and a great way to experience the park with kids young and old.

We sent a family to the park to enjoy the fun and report back. Here’s the report from the mom, Elaine Herrera-Carey:

Some people did not know that there was a Halloween event going on, but their excitement grew when they saw the kids that were in costumes. I would say about 40% of kids and families were dressed up in some sort of costume. I also noticed there were a lot of older people trick or treating, like in their 70’s years young! Which I find awesome!

The candy choices for this Saturday were M&M’s, Salt Water Taffy (different flavors), Chik-fil-A sponsored Cow Tales, Nerds (different flavors), Airheads (different flavors), Dum Dum Pops (different flavors), Smarties, SunRype 100% Fruit Strip (different flavors), Tootsie Rolls, Twizzlers, and Ring Pop Gummies (different flavors).

My daughter and I really love the event. We look forward to it every year! Free candy, the chance to show off her costumes and see others costumes. Being that I am a Costume Designer, Aurora has grown up loving it! And she is even learning to help to make her costumes with me. We saw a few costumes that were created from scratch too and got one family to actually allow us to take their pic with my daughter.

The event is wonderful, filled with many families looking to enjoy trick or treating in a safe and fun environment for all ages. Penelope’s Sea Party is a great diffusion area of heavy lines mainly for the smaller children, but it welcomes all ages. We took advantage of all the photo ops with many Sea Creatures, Witches, Mermaids, and Shamu! There were plenty of  fun things to do to keep you in the trick or treating area. The themed shows are fun, especially since they are temporary to the themed holidays you don’t want to miss those.

Spooktacular Highlights Include:

Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun – Costumed youngsters can trick-or-treat for ghoulish goodies. Each sea-themed, trick-or-treat station features an assortment of candy favorites including Tootsie Roll, Jelly Beans, Airheads, just to name a few.

Penelope’s Party Zone – This dynamic “underwater” environment comes to life each weekend with a live DJ, a variety of craft opportunities, bubbles floating overhead and colorful sea-themed characters. The zone is located on SeaWorld’s Bayside Pathway.

Returning Fan Favorite: Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween – Celebrate a Spooktacular Halloween at SeaWorld with The Count, Elmo, Abby, and the rest of everyone’s Sesame Street friends! The Count is feeling lonely this Halloween, and it’s up to you and the loveable monsters from Sesame Street to get him into the Halloween spirit. Batty bats and spooky skeletons join the fun in a song filled stage show that invites you and your family to dance, play, and sing along.

Spooktacular Dance Party – Children join Princess Penelope and her under-the-sea friends for a Spooktacular Dance Party where they can participate in line-dancing favorites as clouds of bubbles fill the evening air. The party will kick off at the Village Square in the front of the park every event night one hour before park closing.

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular takes place from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekends, October 3-31. Like all special events at SeaWorld Orlando, Halloween Spooktacular is included with park admission.
