EPCOT’s 20th annual International Food & Wine Festival kicked off this week and all reports are that the food selections are once again out of this world. Part of that may be attributed to the chefs, mixologists, and food innovators who are developing a new “Flavor Lab” for the Walt Disney World resort.
WHen the backstage state-of-the-art research and development facility opens in October, it will bring together Walt Disney World resort chefs, front-of-house, managers, sommeliers, mixologists and more together to discover new dishes and drinks to make magical foodie memories for guests.
Ringing in at 7,000-square feet, the Flavor Lap will also include new preparation methods, better product packaging and improvements.
Alas, since it’s backstage you wont be able to visit the facility, but you will experience the results on-stage. Disney has always led the way with its culinary operations and with continued exploration and improvement the Flavor Lab provides, they can continue to innovate for years.
