The Walt Disney Company has had great success working with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz on the “Dream Portrait” series portraying celebrities in roles made famous by Disney’s classic movies and theme park attractions. Now they’re turning to Leibovitz to help relaunch the Star Wars film franchise.
The cover of the June Issue of Vanity Fair features a photo with Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca plus new actors: Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn), with a cameo by BB-8 a new droid from the film.
The magazine promises to release an exclusive character portrait on Star Wars Day, which is today. Go figure.
