This happy Tiki greets guests as they enter the Polynesian Village Ceremonial House. It’s name is Maui and it can be found on various signs and in the newly remodeled rooms of the resort. If you’re familiar with The Enchanted Tiki Room out in California, you may recognize him in a similar form from their courtyard. Maui is known as a Polynesian trickster who gave people time and roped the playful Sun.
Probably coincidentally, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was recently cast to play the Polynesian Tiki God Maui in Disney Animations upcoming movie – Moana.
