A Super-Cut of Disney’s Live-Action Movie Legacy

Mary_Poppins

I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether we be six or sixty.” — Walt Disney

There’s no denying The Walt Disney Company of today is a behemoth compared to the Walt Disney Studios that existed when Walt died in 1966. Walt was extremely interested in doing more live-action movies and I believe he would recognize how today’s franchise factory evolved from his earliest attempts at live-action.

A new super-cut celebrates the legacy of Disney live-action. There are a lot of rare Disney movies in there and some modern favorites.

That was a lot of fun. And I like how it appears the modern films follow in the rich tradition started by Disney all the way back in 1941 with “The Reluctant Dragon.”

Was your favorite live-action Disney film in the compilation? How do you feel about The Walt Disney Company’s current live-action strategy now that it includes Marvel and Lucasfilm?

Update: Here are the films Jim said he used in compiling his Disney live-action sizzle reel. Which title would you most like to see for the first time?
